It was fantastic to be able to hold our annual battle of the bands, ‘Prep Idol’, again after a two year hiatus. Excitement had been building for weeks and the performers from Year 6, 7 and 8 were working exceptionally hard to be ready for the show.
On the night 15 performers /bands headlined the evening to a capacity crowd of over 400 who witnessed some incredible musical performances. The audience was wowed by the performances of the children, as well as some special guest appearances by members of staff. From Adele to ACDC and Queen to One Direction it really was an amazing show. The winning act, and this year’s ‘Prep Idol’ champions, were ‘Structure’ who performed ‘Hold Back The River’ by James Bay to a standing ovation.
With the hall transformed into a venue any rock or pop act would be excited to perform in, it really is a fantastic experience for the children who get to be popstars for the night.
