Kindergarten Curriculum

Welcome to Kindergarten

After Nursery, the children aged three to four transition to Kindergarten as one cohort and continue their pre-school journey with their friends and familiar staff.  They attend a minimum of 2 morning sessions and 1 full day a week.

Our Kindergarten is set across two classrooms and a beautiful outdoor space.  The children’s enthusiasm for learning evolves through well planned topics and building on the children’s personal interests.

Within Kindergarten children continue to have access to additional experiences throughout the week, these include; Mini Movers, CycleMe.Tots, Playball and Outdoor Adventures.

As the children’s journey continues, teachers plan experiences which develop learning through the Prime Areas and Specific Areas of the Early Years Curriculum.  An online journal in Nursery and Kindergarten shares the children’s school experiences with family and allows parents to remain involved in their child’s development.

A growth mindset philosophy continues using the Characteristics of Effective Learning, enabling children to be proud of their achievements and progress.

Prime Areas of the curriculum:

  • Communication and Language
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development.

Specific Areas:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding of the World
  • Art and Design

Children leave Kindergarten ready for full time school in Reception.
