On Monday, 30 lucky children from Years 5 and 6 enjoyed a fantastic opportunity to visit the Chelsea Football Club Training Ground in Cobham for a series of specialised training sessions and a guided tour of the facilities.
The group had a brilliant day, which included training in Chelsea’s state-of-the-art indoor arena, where the coaches set up a range of drills before helping the children put their skills into practice in mini matches. They also had the chance to observe members of the Women’s First Team in action and visit the Men’s Training Facility.
In addition, the children gained valuable insight into the strength and conditioning programmes undertaken by the youth academy, as well as the dietary and nutritional requirements that support player performance and development.
Chelsea Football Foundation delivers an after-school football programme at The Prep. This is led by UEFA-qualified coaches who deliver a bespoke football curriculum designed specifically for the school and tailored to support every child’s development.
