Last Friday we were thrilled to host our annual Thomas Trophy Cross Country and delighted that, for once, the rain stayed away and we could hold it on the day!
A brilliant 417 runners from 17 schools took on the challenging course, with U9, U11 and U13 races for boys and girls. The route began on our playing fields, wound through the beautiful Knole Park, and finished back at school – a tough test of stamina and determination.
The atmosphere was fantastic, with cheers echoing across the course. A huge thank you to our ‘hares’ from Caterham School, to our staff and pupil marshals for encouraging runners every step of the way and to all the schools who joined us to make the event such a success.
Congratulations to everyone who took part, achieved personal bests and lifted trophies. A special mention goes to our U13 girls’ runner, who came second in her category, and to our U11 boys’ team, who took home first place in theirs.
It was a wonderful afternoon of sport, teamwork and resilience – a true celebration of school cross country.
