We were thrilled to welcome Dominic Mott, Head of Hurst, to Sevenoaks Prep. He delivered a fascinating and thought-provoking lecture to our Years 7&8 students entitled ‘What I’ve learned from a lifetime in education (and a few other jobs)’ as part of our senior student lecture series.
Mr Mott captivated his audience with engaging insights and key life lessons, including the idea ‘we learn more outside of school than we learn in school’. He encouraged our students to embrace lifelong learning, read widely and to be brave and approach challenges with curiosity and creativity.
One memorable moment was when he challenged our students to think critically by posing the question, ‘How many passenger airplanes are in the sky around the world right now?’ to reinforce the message that how we think is often as important as what we know.
Thank you Mr Mott, for sharing your story and delivering such an inspiring session; we all left feeling motivated and full of fresh ideas to explore!
