7th December 24
Dear Parents
I hope you are all well.
Welcome to the final newsletter of 2024! We are heading into the final week of term where plenty of Christmas cheer and excitement awaits. We have a plethora of events and activities going on, culminating in the trip to see the panto at The Stag. We have the theatre to ourselves so it will be a lovely way for staff and pupils to share the experience prior to the start of the festive break.
I wanted to say a huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the recent Christmas Concert. Whether performing individually, as a group or as part of Choir or Orchestra, the pupils contributed to a wonderful event which showcased the many talents we have at Sevenoaks Prep.
I would also like to say a huge “thank you” to pupils in Years 7 and 8 who took part in our senior drama production, “The Roses of Eyam”. This was a challenging play to bring to the stage but our older pupils collaborated wonderfully to deliver a moving performance. Next term, we look forward to our pupils in Years 5 and 6 taking to the stage in “Mary Poppins”.
A special well done also goes to our Pre-Prep pupils for their magical Nativity performances. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 came together for a spectacular show and it was fantastic to see so many year groups join together to create such a memorable event. Kindergarten also shone brightly with their own Twinkly Nativity, impressing us all with their confidence and charm on stage.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and restful time over the holiday period. I look forward to welcoming you back in 2025!
Best wishes

Dear Parents and Guardians,
What a magical show this was! It was truly heartwarming to see Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 come together for what has been one of our most memorable Nativity performances yet. The children performed, danced and sang their hearts out, filling the room with joy and festive spirit. I could not have been prouder of their efforts and enthusiasm.
The camels, angels, stars and sheep danced the night away with energy and sparkle, while our Year 2 children delivered their lines with such confidence and pride – it was a delight to watch their hard work and preparation come to life on stage.
Bringing the whole Pre-Prep together for a performance like this highlights one of the most special aspects of our school community. Events like these offer children a sense of belonging and the chance to collaborate as part of a larger team, fostering relationships across year groups.
Kindergarten also wowed us with their performance of ‘The Twinkly Nativity’. It never ceases to amaze me how well such young children do! Standing on such a huge stage in front of a large audience with huge stage lights shining down on them is a very big deal, but all of them shone and twinkled the morning away! Well done Kindergarten.
Performing on stage is also a vital part of a child’s all-rounded education. It nurtures self-confidence, encourages creativity and develops essential skills such as listening, teamwork and resilience. Standing in front of an audience, no matter how big or small, helps children discover their voice and grow as individuals, laying the foundation for future challenges with courage and self-belief.
Thank you to all the parents, guardians and families who supported the shows and cheered the children on. Your presence made them even more special and I hope you left feeling as inspired and proud as we all did.
Next week, we have our exciting Christmas Week to look forward to, which promises to be a fabulous, fun-filled week. Please do read the Pre-Prep Friday Newsletter this week as it will contain important reminders for the final week of term!
Best wishes,
