Weekly round up 11th October

Dear Parents,

I hope you are well and have had a good week.

What a fabulous day we had on Thursday, all the children and staff looked
wonderful in their yellow outfits for Hello Yellow Day. An array of football
shirts, minions and even the odd banana certainly brightened up the rather
grey and drizzly morning.

We have absolutely smashed our fundraising target of £500 and at the time of writing we have reached
£735! Thank you so much for your generosity, all the money will go the charity Young Minds and make
such a difference to lives of many young people.

Supporting events like Hello Yellow is just one part of our ongoing commitment to mental health. Here at
The Prep, the wellbeing of our pupils is at the heart of everything we do. We are dedicated to fostering a
positive environment where mental health is prioritised, and every child feels supported every day.
In other wellbeing news, Mrs Houghman and I will be hosting our first Wellbeing Rep meeting with children
from all year groups when we return from half term, and we are really looking forward to hearing all their
wonderful ideas and initiatives they would like to see introduced at the school.

Wishing you all a wonderful and restful half term, we look forward to welcoming all the children back in
two weeks time and hearing about their half term adventures!

Best wishes
Sophie Fuller

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week in the Pre-Prep, we have been celebrating Black History Month. Our
children have been learning about the significance of this celebration, when it
takes place, and about some of the most iconic figures in Black history. It has
been fascinating to watch the children engage with these important topics and share their insights with us,
building on their own knowledge.

This morning, we were delighted to welcome Daniel, a Pre-Prep parent, who led an assembly about Black
History. He highlighted some of the most influential figures and also introduced the children to the famous
Black author, Malorie Blackman. Daniel explained how her stories include people from all ethnicities,
showing the children how we can all work and live together harmoniously. We read one of her stories
during the assembly, and the children thoroughly enjoyed it.

I hope you have a wonderful half term break, and I look forward to seeing you after the holiday.

Kind regards,

Helen Cook
