Dear Parents

I hope you are all well. It has been great to see some sunshine peeking through the clouds this week and at last the cricket pitches seem to be drying out a little. With fixtures now underway it feels like the summer term has well and truly begun.

Tickets for Prep Idol (Saturday 13th May) are selling fast so do make sure that you get yours in good time. The event is always one of the highlights of the school year and there is an immense amount of preparation that goes into making it such a wonderful experience for all involved. It has been great to see the pupils rehearsing this week, talking excitedly about their performances and, of course, discussing what they will be wearing! As it stands, those attending should hear a pretty diverse serving of songs from different eras and genres, so there should be something for everyone.

There has been much discussion this week about the forthcoming coronation on Saturday, and I have enjoyed hearing from the pupils about the various family events and street parties that are taking place across our area. Whatever you are planning, I hope that you have a great bank holiday weekend.

Best wishes

Luke Harrison

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I do hope that you were able to enjoy a lovely long weekend and managed to find some sunshine. This week in Pre-Prep we have been doing all things coronation! The children have completed some wonderful activities based around the upcoming coronation this weekend.

On Wednesday and Thursday, they enjoyed some fabulous dance workshops. They danced their legs off to songs across each decade and had so much fun. We were hoping to be able to host a very large picnic in the warm sunshine today with a traditional English lunch of fish and chips. However, with the weather so changeable and cooler temperatures, we are choosing to have our lunch indoors instead with ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ and ‘God Save the King’ ringing out loud!

As we move into the weekend, we are hoping to see lots of our children participate in our small part of ‘The Big Help Out’, with litter picking activities. Mrs Lemmon shall be busy collating the final totals and will let you know the outcome very soon.

I hope that you are all able to enjoy another lovely bank holiday, whether you are taking part in a big street party or hosting a lovely family event.

With very best wishes,

Helen Cook
