Houses are an important part of life at The Prep, bringing children together across year groups and encouraging older pupils to care for and support the younger ones.
On entry into the School, each family and staff member are assigned to one of the four Houses: Knole, Weald, Vine and Seal. Each House has a number of Year 8 prefects who act as representatives for the House and who also help to coordinate House teams. The emphasis is very much on teamwork and the many various inter-House competitions (drama, singing, hockey, football, rugby, netball, general knowledge, top table, badge winners, to name a few) are fought over enthusiastically. Sports Day is one of the highlights of the House year, when all children participate in a variety of events representing their House, the finale of which is the whole school inter-House relay race!
