Thomas Trophy

With glorious sunshine and temperatures more befitting summer than the end of September, we were delighted to welcome over 350 runners from 17 schools to Sevenoaks Prep for the Thomas Trophy, our annual cross-country event, last Friday.

A huge thank you to our hares from Caterham School, who expertly led competitors around the challenging Knole Park course, and to our staff and pupil marshals, who provided fantastic encouragement throughout the afternoon while helping to keep runners safe. With separate boys’ and girls’ races across three age groups, and teams of six runners competing for honours, there was plenty of exciting racing throughout the afternoon.

Well done to every runner who took part. The Knole course is demanding and it was wonderful to see such determination and resilience on display. There were some outstanding individual and team performances, including a fantastic victory for our U11 Boys, who retained their trophy for the second consecutive year, with one of our runners also taking first place in the race. Congratulations too to one of our U11 Girls, who secured an impressive third-place finish.

Thank you to all the schools who joined us and congratulations to those who achieved podium finishes. It was a wonderful afternoon of competition and camaraderie, and great to see the school buzzing with runners, supporters and spectators throughout the event.
