At Sevenoaks Prep, we are dedicated to fostering environmentally conscious young people who recognise their role in protecting the planet. Through hands-on projects, innovative initiatives and the commitment of our Eco-Committee, we continue to drive positive change within our school and beyond.

The Eco-Schools Green Flag is an international accreditation that recognises efforts to raise environmental awareness amongst young people, whilst taking action to make their school more sustainable. The Eco-Schools programme was established in 1994 and is now delivered in more than 70 countries across the globe. The programme prompts young people to explore a variety of environmental issues, including climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss. Pupils are then empowered to plan and deliver environmental actions in their school, local community and beyond.
Our eco committee has currently chosen to focus on reducing litter and waste, enhancing our school grounds and buildings to help wellbeing and biodiversity as well as introducing a valuable new initiative on global citizenship.
Our pupils’ enthusiasm and commitment to sustainability has also inspired staff to take further action. As a result, we have developed a Climate Action Plan to guide our journey towards a more sustainable future. Sevenoaks Prep has proudly joined the Let’s Go Zero by 2030 campaign, reaffirming our pledge to reduce carbon emissions and create a greener, cleaner school environment.
By embracing sustainable practices, we strive to empower our pupils to become responsible global citizens, equipped to make a meaningful and lasting difference in the world around them.
