Head’s Welcome

MR LUKE HARRISON

There was once a pupil who truly loved his school. Some subjects came easily to him; others took a bit more effort. There were days that were full of laughter, challenge and success. Every single day brought something new: a chance to learn, to collaborate and reflect.

He loved the thrill of pulling on his school colours for a match, the buzz of performing in a play or a concert and the pride that came with being trusted with responsibility. When he left at the age of thirteen, he carried with him the feeling that his school had helped to prepare him for the adventures ahead.

He often thought about the teachers who had given him the most precious gifts of all: their enthusiasm, their patience and their time. And he thought about how his parents had always felt part of the school too. Together, it had felt like one big family: warm, supportive and full of life.

Of course, this school has changed over the years. It is proudly co-educational and independent; it welcomes boys and girls from two and a half right up to thirteen. The facilities have grown and new opportunities have blossomed. The world has evolved and the school has moved confidently with it.

But the heart of the school remains the same. It is still a family: a place where every child is known, valued and encouraged to be their best version of themself. It is still a school that celebrates success, whether that is exam results, scholarships, a great performance on stage or a personal breakthrough in the classroom.

It is still a place where teachers are given the freedom to inspire and children are given the space to enjoy their childhood: to play, to explore and to grow.

It is, in every sense, still the school I loved.

Welcome to The Prep.
