The Social Entrepreneurs Project (SEP)
The Social Entrepreneurs Project (SEP) for the Form 8 pupils will be launched next week at a special assembly on Wednesday 28th April to which all parents are welcome. The SEP introduces entrepreneurial skills and social awareness to the children who will be sponsored by Amherst Rotary Club. The Rotary Club will give £10 'seed capital' to each member of Form 8, the pupils then come up with creative business ideas and develop commercial skills as they make those ideas happen. All profits are donated to HOPEHIV. After the assembly the Form 8 children will hear from local, young entrepreneurs in a series of short workshops who will talk about their experiences in the world of business. We will welcome two former pupils back to the school, Charles & James Churchman, and local magazine founders Owen Hunnan & Charlie de Rusett. The majority of SEP projects start in earnest after the Common Entrance examinations in June. In years gone by our children have turned their joint seed capital into thousands of pounds with dog shows, football competitions, cinema nights, pizza delivery schemes to name but a few projects. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday to hear more.
Prep Idol 5 - Saturday 8th May 6.30pm
The countdown to this has well and truly begun and Mr Collings is eagerly anticipating a fantastic evening. All proceeds from the event will be donated to HopeHIV and The Haller Foundation and tickets are now available from the School Office priced at £7 each.
We hope that you will take this opportunity to encourage family and friends to support this event. May we just remind all that children must be accompanied by an adult.
